The chair of Software Engineering invites new students to attend the Pre-course "Informatics," designed to provide a head start on the upcoming semester. These sessions offer an essential introduction to the tools and platforms used throughout the course Fundamentals of Programming.
During these sessions, students will:
- Install Java: Ensure they have the correct setup for programming.
- Set up IntelliJ: Learn how to install and navigate the IntelliJ Integrated Development Environment (IDE), which will be used to create Java programs.
- Get acquainted with Artemis: The learning platform for managing lecture content, exercises, and exams.
- Participate in Hands-on Exercises:
- The First Java Program: Try out your first program with guidance and resolve any doubts.
- Debugging: Identify and resolve existing and potential issues in your first program with support from tutors.
These sessions are crucial for understanding the tools used in the course and will prepare students for the weekly exercises in the Fundamentals of Programming course.
All new students are invited to attend and ensure everything is set up for a smooth start to the semester.
