Radu Raicea: Enabling dynamic load balancing for MiniMD on OctoPOS

SCCS Colloquium |

This thesis aims at adding dynamic load balancing to the miniMD (a simple parallel molecular dynamics simulation program) port in OctoPOS, an operating system that is meant to be run on exotic multi processor computers such as those designed specifically with the invasive computing paradigm in mind. Different load balancing schemes are implemented and their performance are compared: a "naive" load balancing scheme, an inverted pressure scheme using a swipe to change all subdomains in one load balancing iteration, as well as A Loadbalancing Library's tensor method.

Master's thesis presentation. Radu is advised by Santiago Narvaez Rivas.
