Jonas Halsbenning: Designing a 3-Dimensional Test Environment for a Crowd Guiding App

SCCS Colloquium |

An online survey is currently investigating how app notifications that include suggested routes
should be designed. So far, only a 2-dimensional test environment was available for the study.
This work deals with the design of a 3-dimensional test environment for the further
development of this previous study. The model for the test environment is the area of the
subway station Münchner Freiheit in Munich. For the implementation I created a 3D model
based on the 2-dimensional template and developed a simulation for it. To ensure the
comparability of the data collected in surveys of both versions, a special design of a 3D
environment is necessary. For example, factors such as light, vegetation and obstacles must be
considered when designing a 3D environment. The collection of relevant data and its storage is
also part of this work. A survey in the developed study environment was not conducted.

Bachelor's thesis presentation. Jonas is advised by Prof. Hans-Joachim Bungartz.
