Research Interests
- My Ph.D. Advisor was Prof. Gudrun Klinker
- I started my Ph.D. in summer 2002 with the programming of a herd of sheep. About at the same time, we started a project with the german heart center on medical topics. Therefore sometimes the sheep had to face an unfamiliar environment. Soon after the end of this project, Nassir Navab joined the faculty as professor and some of the students in this project became his first research assistants. In the meantime, our group continued the work on software infrastructures for augmented reality together with our friends in Graz and Cambridge and formulated the concept of Ubiquitous Tracking. This is a formal way of describing complex tracking setups and the basis for advanced error estimation, calibration and error propagation. At the moment I am writing my thesis on the topic of accuracy analysis in optical tracking systems and error propagation for augmented reality.
- Thanks to my teaching duties i know now how to program in OCaml, Prolog, Forth, Postscript, Lambda-Calculus and Smalltalk. If I got the choice, I prefer Mathematica to MATLAB to Maple or any other programming language like C++, C or Java. I can handle OpenGL, XML, UML, SQL end even the UNIX Shell.
- Have a look at my hand-eye calibration page. It presents a lot of relevant literature for the hand-eye calibration problem with links to the online publications.
