We are delighted to announce that Prof. Zhenchang Xing, Senior Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO's Data61, has been awarded the prestigious Hans Fischer Senior Fellowship at the Technical University of Munich. Working within the Chair of Software Engineering for AI lead by Prof. Chunyang Chen, Prof. Xing will bring his pioneering expertise in software engineering and responsible AI to TUM.
Named after Nobel laureate Prof. Hans Fischer, this distinguished fellowship recognizes outstanding international scientists pursuing innovative, high-risk research. Prof. Xing's remarkable career includes ten major paper awards, including the ACM SIGSOFT Most Influential Paper Award and multiple Distinguished Paper Awards at top software engineering conferences. His recent work focuses on critical areas such as software-hardware co-design for AI-enabled safety-critical systems and software supply chain security.
The three-year fellowship will support collaborative research between CSIRO and TUM, including funding for a doctoral candidate who will work under Prof. Xing's co-supervision. This partnership will strengthen TUM's position in software engineering & AI while fostering international scientific collaboration.
