Dr. Jieshan Chen Awarded Prestigious Dieter Schwarz Fellowship at TUM

Leading researcher in Human-AI interaction and software engineering, Dr. Jieshan Chen from CSIRO's Data61, has been awarded the prestigious Dieter Schwarz Fellowship to advance responsible AI research at TUM Campus Heilbronn.

We are proud to announce that Dr. Jieshan Chen, research scientist and UI intelligence team lead at CSIRO's Data61, Australia, has been awarded the prestigious Dieter Schwarz Fellowship at the Technical University of Munich. Working within the Focus Group "Responsible AI for Trustworthy Technology and Automation" under Prof. Chunyang Chen, Dr. Chen will bring her expertise in human-centered software development to TUM Campus Heilbronn.

The three-year fellowship, funded by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation, promotes international cooperation and innovative research through substantial funding support. Dr. Chen's impressive track record includes significant contributions to top-tier conferences and journals, with recent recognition including the CSIRO SCS Early Career in Science Award (2024) and a SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE 2020.

At TUM, Dr. Chen will advance her research in human-AI interaction and responsible software development, focusing on creating more trustworthy and user-centered AI systems. The fellowship will also support a doctoral candidate at TUM, fostering the next generation of researchers in this critical field.
