WebTrain: Web-Based, Collaborative Learning for e-Government
Initial Situation
Based on ever shorter innovation cycles operational training became a key for economic success. Innovative training methods using modern information and communication technologies should therefore also be used for training in public administration. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has approved the joint project WebTrain in the context of the research project "Lernet - Web-based Learning in SMEs and public administrations" to promote the implementation and use of innovative methods of training.

Implementation of a learning environment for collaborative, web-based learning.
Realization
In the context of the WebTrain project success factors in implementing collaborative, web-based learning will be explored in the public administration and public enterprises. For this purpose the Chair for Information Systems at Universität Hohenheim accompanies the implementation of a learning environment for collaborative, web-based learning in a pilot project scientifically, using the example of a course from the training provision of BEW (Bildungszentrum für die Entsorgungs- und Wasserwirtschaft GmbH).
